The following information outlines my education, training, and professional background. I became a Nationally Board Certified Massage Therapist and Bodywork Practitioner in 1998 and have worked as a holistic healthcare coach and massage therapist for over 18 years in the Detroit Metro Area. I became ordained as an interfaith minister in 2008 and began collaboration with Lakota, Cree, and Wyandotte tribes on issues of social justice, ecological preservation and access to healthcare and resources for families on reservations throughout the U.S. I am a Lakota Pipe Carrier and Sundancer, and a proud parent of two wonderful individuals. In 2009, I completed my Associates degree in Early Childhood Development and opened a state-licensed developmental daycare center serving at-risk youth in the Detroit Metro Area. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Women and Gender Studies in 2013 and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling in 2017. My counseling internship took place at a dual diagnosis treatment facility that provides trauma-informed care for both mental health and substance use disorders. In 2018, I received training and certification in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and now specialize in trauma-informed care. My approach is person-centered, collaborative, and holistic, tailored to individual needs. I aim to assist others in developing adaptive skills and habits to manage their physical, mental, and emotional health more effectively. This work is deeply important to me, as I grew up with a parent who struggled with addiction and lost my younger brother to suicide. With several military personnel and first responders in my family, I am passionate about serving my community with online therapy options that effectively reach those in need.
